A Flooded Basement in Longview, WA.

In the early morning hours, a family in Longview, WA woke up to several inches of ground water flooding their basement. The basement consisted of 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, utility room, and a storage area.

Not knowing what to do, they called SERVPRO right away. Our Production Manager arrived to the residential home, and began assessing the damage and locating the source where the water was coming in. The home was located near a creek, on lower grounds and with the significant amount of rain fall the property was flooded. It was a devastating scene because all the children's belongings were damaged including beds, cloths, and toys. The technicians arrived to begin extracting the water in attempt to remove all the wet materials such as carpet. As much as we tried the water continued to enter the home and we could not continue the restoration and cleanup until the source was fixed. We setup our advanced drying equipment to control the moisture and disinfected with a antimicrobial cleaner at this time to avoid secondary mold damage from occurring.
