Tornado Destroys the Roof of a Longview Business.

A local towing company here in Cowlitz County endured devastating damages after a tornado destroyed the roof of their business. The damaged roof accompanied by rains from the storm, meant the building needed immediate services. 

SERVPRO of Longview/Kelso was called and began the cleanup and restoration promptly. Once the building was boarded up, our restoration team began extracting water from the inside in order to assess all the damage. Our technicians worked long hours to help the business owner halt further secondary damages from occurring such as mold. In this picture you will see that the ceiling and insulation had to be completely removed to ensure the affected areas dried properly. Since we know that mold can grow rapidly after water damage occurs, we setup special drying equipment to help prevent this from happening. When there is a lot of water from a upstairs source it will travel everywhere it can. Behind baseboards, under the floor tiles or carpet, and behind the walls. Even with excess preventative measures after a water loss, mold growth is inevitable. To insure we stop any possible mold growth from occurring drying, cleaning, and sealing the affected wood is important.
